I just got my uncles 83 Beluga which has not been plated since 92. I cracked the shed open last summer and had the motor rebuilt and the thing runs like a charm. I didn't drive it much since the rebuild because of an issue with the front left fork. The wheel feels like it is falling off at high speeds.
My question for you is where can I buy me some JDM blinkers like the ones you got. It's a small upgrade and it has a huge impact.

Check out this site: BelugaRiders.co.nr It's a small Beluga forum with lots of great info! As for the JDM blinkers, you're looking at $38/blinker for some new ones from Japan via this guy: www.southurst.com/southtekHe's a great guy...contact him telling him what you want and he'll go to a yamaha dealer in Japan and order you a set for a very reasonable markup (~10%).

For some reason...the white Belugas look like old school LEO vehicles.
Btw Dan, what are your plans with the Ruck? Still not sure yet?

I'm not going to fix the Ruckus. If I had a nice garage to work in then I'd be more open to it but I don't...just a spare bedroom in my 3rd floor apartment with new carpet. Fixing my Ruckus would be a MAJOR job....I calculated that at used prices it would cost me about $900+ to get it fixed up. It needs a frame ($200), engine ($300), rear frame ($100), headlights ($150), rims ($100) plus loads of other stuff like a speed, battery box, tires, airbox, carburator etc. Basically it would be cheaper to buy a used Ruckus than to spend countless hours fixing this one. I'd like to get it back on the road for sentimental reasons but it just doesn't make that much sense.
I do want to get another Ruckus though...perhaps next summer. I need to find a job first and then I'll keep my eye's open for a deal on a 2006 or newer Ruck. Do you need any parts?

Perhaps you could check out the 2009 year Ruckus if any changes are made to it.
What parts do you have?

Just save some of the parts to put on your next Ruckus.

All the parts are stock parts....I sold all the aftermarket stuff when my Ruckus was totalled.
If you need some stock parts let me know, I have virtually everything unless it's smashed.

I guess I should conclude this thread, I got the Beluga running like a champ with a Yamaha Jog intake manifold which I modified to bolt on and I paired that with a 24mm carb. Obviously I had the technigas RS exhaust which I bent/welded to fit and I had the late model CV80 cylinder and reeds. Lastly, I tossed in much lighter 4g rollers so it would rev high enough to accelerate like a bandit. The results were awesome. The acceleration was radically improved and the top speed rose from a 37mph stock to 55-60mph. I did blow a connected rod bearing after a few months but I suspect it was simply because the bearing was 25 years old. I replaced that and the scooter continued to run great until I sold in in late August, 2008 to a fellow in Toronto, ON for $900. I've emailed him since then about the scooter but I haven't heard anything back. Hopefully it's still running like a champ. I would have loved to keep it but I was moving across the country and didn't have room to take it with me.

I have an 1985 Honda Elite 150 that looks EXACTLY like that. Old scooters are still fun.

Yes.....they are a blast. I'm planning on buying a new Zuma 125 (aka BWS 125) next week and that will be my reliable daily transportation so I can leisurely work on an older scooter or two as I find the money, space and time. I really need to move to a place with a garage.
