Most of the bands listed here in the above posts I like, I'm very eclectic when it comes to music. Some that are high on my list would be , Hot Hot Heat, Broken Social Scene, Tool  , Depeche Mode, the Dead Kennedys you got to love them(before Jello left... or was it the band that left, I can't remember) Ministry, Radiohead, NIN, Beethoven... yes, as Alex would say "lovely lovely Ludwig Van Beethovin", Underworld, Kraftwerk, Daniel Lanios, Audioslave, Grandaddy, The Specials, Madness, The Jam, English Beat, The Cure(old pre pop cure that is before kiss me), The legendary original man in black Johnny Cash!!!!GRHS Tom Waits is amazing, Stomping Tom Conners(a proud Canadian) and finally for now... the best band to come out of the States in the past few years... :-*System of a Down. |

I'm surprised the Ruckus doesn't attract exclusively rockers and metalheads-- it's such an "adolescent boy" bike! (Certainly appeals to that "do I whistle at the pretty girl or throw rocks and stick out my tongue" sixth grade playground mentality in me...) I expected a lot of Ramones (I agree, if there's a Ruckus theme they should write it) and Led Zepplin. We're a pretty awesomely diverse group.
I'm probably the odd man out music-wise; although I enjoy everything (dance, goth, rock, country, rap, you name it) my favorite music, far and away, is post-industrial dance (Front 242, Covenant, VNV Nation, Project Pitchfork, In Strict Confidence).

Funny, my brother used to listen to JFA and Black Flag! I loved that stuff too. My favourite punk band was and still is the Clash but that probably has something to do with my age. I listen to a pretty eclectic bunch of stuff too. Right now I'm listening to; Eagles of Death Metal, LCD Sound System, Radioactive Man, Azzido Da Bass, Plump DJs, Bassment Jaxx, Pepe Deluxe, Joanna Newsom... My tastes change pretty quickly. Not into any top 40 or most any radio play music.

but i do listen to underground hip hop too (i hear you on brother ali, atmosphere etc, pain merchant)
but i love women vocalists also, esthero, res, etc.

I went to see the Aquabats, Monday, but they pushed the show back like 4 hours, so we couldn't stay... Sucks! We got there before the band, and helped them unload their stuff... then found out the opening act wouldn't start for another 3 hours, so we left, "edit profanity", and watched Batman Begins (which is awesome). At least I got to carry a skateboard and a keyboard for the Aquabats... I'll get to see them, one day...  |
