Wow, first on the Urban Scootin, now here...
I'd hafta say my favorite band is the Reel Big Fish... I'll hopefully be seeing them, again, in about a month...
I also like other ska-punk and punk bands such as the Aquabats, Goldfinger, NoFX, No Use For a Name, MxPx, the Misfits...
But I listen to a variety of stuff... John Denver, Jimmy Buffett, CW McCall, Jim Croce, Twisted Sister, DJ Jazzy Jeff & the Fresh Prince, the Skatalites, the Refreshments, Foo Fighters, and a variety of other things... I dunno, I got a lot of music...

banana man and sumo surprise were the only good albums (the covers album is ok). they put out 2 more after that but they were really serious, boring and mellow. they sucked. Ghoti Hook broke up maybe 6mths ago and they put out an album of their last concert live which is a decent album.

I live in a different century or at least 5 decades ago. Names like the Drifters, The Four Freshman,Sam Cook, Four Tops, Martha and The Vandalias are still what I listen to. I belong to the olde farts club

Boy, I'm with tedsmini....another old guy. Give me Elvis, Jerry Lee Lewis, The Big Bopper, anything from a 50's & 60's sock-hop. A little CCR, Three Dog Night, the Ventures, & to relax, anything on a Wurlitzer pipe organ. How about Anthony Newman doing Bach's Tocatta and Fugue in D minor.

I guess I'm from a different generation too but my generation is early 80's. I grew up listening to; the Clash, Sex Pistols, all original ska bands, early B-52's (not that "Love Shack" crap), Iggy and the Stooges, Ramones etc.
I still love those bands but I also love modern stuff today too. RJD2, Prefuse 73, Fila Brasilia, Notwist, Flaming Lips, Ween, Saul Williams, the list goes on. If you haven't heard some (any) of this stuff and would like to. I'm on Soulseek as Mr_Tomorrow. Message me and I'll share.

Atmosphere Mr. Dibbs Jurassic 5 Brother Ali Andrea Bocceli Metallica Dave Matthews Band David Grey Ben Harper
The list goes on and on.

Looks like we have more than just bikes and pirates in common. ;D How did I miss this thread? My tastes in music are really eclectic: dance music especially house and chill, nu metal like Velvet Revolver, Audioslave, other misc. bands such as Red Hot Chilis, the Cure, the Police, and even some blues/jazz such as B.B. King, Etta James. I don't do country nor rap. Anything else is cool.

I'm going to put it out there...check out John Fahey. He is a God! And, like most gods, you won't like him. To fill things out, Silver Jews, Pixies, Frank Black, Leo Kottke, The Decemberists, Dead Kennedys, Wilco, David Bowie, Flaming Lips, Elliot Smith, Meat Puppets (first three albums), all Opera, all Flamenco, The Who (What kind of scooter rider would you be if you didn't dig the Who! ) and Yat-Kha to round things out. ;D

I pretty much agree w/ Abe on this, the heavier the better. I listen to anything but country. Suprised to see the classical list on there. I am mostly into guitarist. I think the Ramones should write the Ruckus theme song. That would rock . Three chords, alot of distortion and a driving beat.

sirius is my music. dont have time to look for music. classic vinyl, rewind, octane, alt nation, backspin, and then i just mill around on pretty much all the other stations but talkleft and the sports channel. best ten bucks a month you can spend. oh yeah, no commercials or cds to lug around.

First saw them back in the day when they blew up or smashed all their instruments each show. Love all Ry Cooder and Leon Redbone stuff, too.
