Silverwind:
Thank you for the tips regarding installation of the shields. Like I wrote earlier, I will have to wait until summer to install mine since I just can't seem to get that screw out of the hand brake. Damn!
Your ride looks good. Here's to comfort!! Cheers.

Gagetgirl,
I just received an e-mail from Jason to inform me that they will no longer respond to individual queries as they are unable to cope with the volume. That's the bad news, the good news is that they have vastly expanded there online store and now list accessories for the BR, including all the Japanese items shown on the Honda Japan web site. The listings include the price and when you go to check out they give you the shipping for Canada, all you need to finalise the order is to pay by Pay Pal or cheque. The Hand guards are listed with the price, quite expensive i think but that's only my opinion. By the way i was not charged duty on the leg shields just GST & PST + $8.00 handling.
I am baffled by your inability to loosen the screw in the hand brake knob, it"s probably a stupid question but are you using the right size of Phillips screwdriver? my first attempt was with a smaller head and it wouldn't budge and kept slipping, but when i switched to the next size up it firmly gripped and the screw came loose easily. Just a thought.

Gagetgirl, probably a stupid question but are you using the right size of Phillips screwdriver? First of all, thank you for the update regarding battlescooter. Secondly, yeah, I did try 3 different sizes of screwdriver heads. I might try again more out of curiosity and impatience than anything.

Have you tried applying grips to the screwdriver shaft/handle and while applying max pressure on the screw head use the leverage on the grips to loosen the screw. I have found this to work well in this situation, be careful not to let the screwdriver slip and strip the screw head of course. Maybe you have already tried this but again just a suggestion for consideration. Good luck.

I haven't tried applying grips yet, but I did tap (pretty hard) the end of the scredriver several times with a hammer. Someone suggested that the tap would loosen the screw. But no luck. The local motorcycle show is coming up at the end of the month. I will ask around while I am there. See what other tricks people have up their sleeves for removing impossibly tight screws. Hopefully, they will have some ideas other than drilling it out. In the meantime, I will try your suggestion.

Gagetgirl, you may need a mechanic with an impact tool to remove the screw, unless you can borrow or rent one. Be very careful that the grip/screwdriver combination doesn't damage the screw, with the leverage provided it is easy to apply too much torque to the screw.

Good morning Gagetgirl. One more thing you might try to get that handbrake screw loose. Get hold of some valve lapping compound, it is used to lap/seat valves in an engine. It looks like grease mixed with sand. You should be able to get it at any good auto parts store in a small can. Dip the end of your screw driver in it and it will grip the screw better and hopefully the screw will break loose. Good luck.

Silverwind & Leek:
Thanks for the tips regarding the tight screw. I will try both techniques (the wrench and the compund). If not, then it will have to wait until spring when I can take the bike to a shop.
Our local scootering club, Scootering Manitoba, is setting up a booth at this year's motorcycle show. I plan to attend the show and help out at the booth. Should be fun. Something to get this scooter enthusiast through the long "no-riding" winter!

We have had our BR's a bit over a month. We are looking for a windshield and back-rest. Any idea where we could get either? Thanks for any info.l
