Ok-I feel better now. When I bought the Ruckus-as much as I loved the look of the scoot-I was thinking-should an almost 40 yr. old mom be riding something that looks this cool, or should I go with the more "appropiate" to my age and gender Metropolitan. Still glad I chose the Ruckus! ;D

The Ruckus came from Honda's N-Project. A group that was suppose to design and market to young first-time buyers. In the case of the Ruckus I think this is a poor strategy. I would market to everyone. I'd put a package together for the RV crowd that included a bumper rack to haul it. To outdoor folks, and remind them that it was a third the price of an ATV. And as whole family recreation and sell two or three at once. Honda should hire me. frosty

Yea-I noticed from the pictures, ads, and videos that this scooter was being marketed to young males-but I agree about the RV and older crowd. My husband wants to get an RV someday-and mentioned that a couple of Ruckuses in tow would be a great idea. Also a great scoot for the outdoor crowd.
From what I've read in internet newsgroups-many middle aged and older adults have purchased them, and Honda would be foolish to overlook this segment. Now if Honda would design an 80CC or above Ruckus-I'd bet they sell tons of them! I looked at the Elite-but I found it so unattractive in comparison to the Ruckus that I went with the 50CC because I feel in love with the design.

Boy.. I feel much better.. I'm 50 something And bought a 2004 yellow ruckus to get to work and play in the woods. I only live a couple of miles from work, but my Dodge V10 PUtruck only gets 10mpg in town.. The payments on the Ruckus are less than a fill up on my 35 gallon tank. If I save one tank a month the thing is free. Everyone (young and old) at work think the Ruckus is the coolest looking scooter around. Honda need to rethink the marketing on it. I just ordered a carrier for the back of my truck when I have my camper on it. Great logging road/fishing/trail bike.

I'm about half the age of the oldest person on here Honda is trying to market the Ruckus to the "Generation X" crowd I haven't dyed my hair blue just yet! Honda should scrub the Elite 80 already....

22 here.
I don't know what kind of market they are pushing in Japan, it would be interesting to find out.

If Honda would start reading this forum it could send half of its marketing staff out to get real jobs. frosty

HONDA ELEMENTS ROCK!!!! I want one as my first vehicle... I think they are sweet. Everyone I know thinks they are ugly though. I want to see one lifted on like 35 or 38 inch tires!
