I found some red oil type fluid inside my airbox. What is this stuff and how did it get there?
Thanks.

Wow you're having a lot of airbox related problems. Anyways, I'm not totally sure but I think it's gas that runs back from your carb (usually if your scooter is tilted over or maybe if it won't start and you try for a while so it floods etc) and then the gas drys out partially leaving kind of an oily residue. I'm not totally sure what it is but I get it too sometimes and yeah it does kinda smell like oily gas or something. There usually isn't very much, more of just a coating. How much do you have?

Not much, but enough to notice. It doesn't smell like gas. It looks like Marvel Mystery OIl.
I've never had starting problems and the bike has never been on its side.

I wouldn't worry about it. I think everyone has the mystery goo but no one really knows where it comes from.

8-)That is just oil vapor from the pcv colecting on the intake, you need to allow the ruckus to idle down at the end of the day, and they will be suck and burn by the engine, what happens is that as the engine runs the heat vaporizes some of the oil, the pcv system collect these vapor and send them to the air filter housing to be ingested by the engine and burn, but if you shut off your engine after a nice run, those vapors just cool off in the air filter housing, some oils are worst than other on this matter, try switch brands or just let the engine idle for about 30seconds after a long run, nothing to worry about, just check your oil level often ;D ;D
