I lose about 3mph when it's really cold out (below 32F) but it all comes back when it warms up. I think it's just a ton of little factors working together with running lean just being one of them. Other factors include denser air = more wind resistance, more bearing resistance cuz they are colder etc. Spring is almost here so I wouldn't worry about it.

Warm-up is the key DD. The gear oil gets like cup grease when it is extremely cold. Same with wheel bearings etc. I hate cold weather, can't wait for spring/summer.

Yeah I'm pretty sick of freezing my balls off. My Ruckus barely idles when it's 25 F out and at first I can only go about 30mph but once it's warmed up I can cruise around 35mph. My Ruckus is almost totally stock again.

KMP77 Yeah cold weather have that effect on lubricants it makes the thicker so they do not flow as easily, and the rear end oil never really gets a chance to fully warm up , but spring is just around the corner

i use my ruckus EVERYDAY going to the train station. My new apartment is only 1.2 miles from the station. Letting the ruckus warm up for 2 minutes, as opposed to 1 minute makes a world of difference. If i wait 5, then its even better.
I've put cardboard over the radiator to help keep the ruckus warm. other than letting it warm up, you're pretty much stuck.
I took it out for an hour this past saturday during the 60 degree weather. ran great!

This weekend's been terrible. It's been too hot to drive Ruby without the air conditioner on... and work is too far to ride Ryoko... how terrible. I need a motorcycle.
