Hello guys, I'm from Italy and my new monster arrived yesterday, it's yellow and really cool! I have a question for you: here in Italy the max speed for motor under 50cc is 45 kph (28 mph), so I have to make my Zoomer (that's the european name) run faster! I reach that speed at about half accelerator and I feel there's something cutting the power to go on. Could you help me? Sorry for my english... Thanks Marco

go to www.urbanscootin.com/forum/ and check out the sections under the Mechanical - Technical area. They have more experience de-restricting hondas than anyone else. I hear the process is pretty easy.

This site here has info about de-restricting the metroII which has the same engine as the Ruckus. This is the best info you'll be able to find. Shouldn't be too hard but may be a little costly. www3.telus.net/dougsimpson/metropolitan.html

This should be the major part restricting your Ruckus. It should be exactly like this in the same place.

Very big problem: NO RESTRICTION!!!! Nothing on the intake, nothing on the variator, I ask a technician and he told me that I have to change the map of ECM to reach about 60-65 kph, I hope soon! Next step will be the exhaust (too low noise), the air filter and the final drive gear. Live to see the future!

Go to the battlescooter home page & look for the link to ronayres.com OEM parts. When that page comes up find the model number for the Ruckus...last one at the bottom of the list. Select WIRE HARNESS & when that picture comes up choose item #1...Control Unit-Engine. The part number 30400-GEZ-671 will come up & show a price of $193.24 US dollars. Not cheap, but a US version of the control unit may be the easiest way to go. Good luck. Scooter safely. ;D

How about just ordering a US version CDI ? That should just click into place, ? right ? or get the hi-performance one and solder it in.
Do you think Honda would have made a whole different engine control module for it ? I bet it's just a more limited CDI box.
That's my two cents.

I work in a bike shop, so I think that re-mapping the original ECM will be for free...
I hope ;D

Oh. Ya do that ;D Does your carb have a TPS? I think it has...a question: with the camshaft, Yoshimura exhaust and a little air filter do you think they could increase power and how much? Bye

So is there no restriction on the intake plate as shown in the photo? If there is, I'll take it apart and pull the little turd off. If not, I dont wanna waste my time.

theres no restriction on the intake plate. only the metro II has that and it was suggested that maybe this dude from italy had one on his cuz his only goes 28mph. it looks now likes it an igniton/cdi type problem.
