well, since this isn't a fueil injection system, other than 'cutoffs' and timing, what else could the ecu be used for?
so... there might (must) be a way to fool the ecu into thinking it's not going over 8000. Put a circuit inline with the rpm line, and when the pulses on it hit 8000rpm then just keep that signal on the line (even though the rpms go over).
same would go for speed limit (this could be fooled full time probably, since it's almost certainly not used for timing purposes).

How would you go about doing this? If you can work something out and post it, you'll gain nothing but ruckus fame...worth it.

The CDI we sell does that. It has no limit. The limit becomes how much air the Ruckus motor can inhale and that costs some coin.
