I recently changed the oil in my ruckus but i overfilled it a bit and the oil now comes up an inch past the top of the mesh pattern on the dipstick. Should i drain some out or does it not really matter? Thanks

Yes you should.
Mine came from the dealer with the oil overfilled and so did several other people's (from the battlescooter reported problems page)
Mine ran like crap when I first got it and I thought it was performing well haha.
When I changed the oil and put the correct in the first time it ran a hell of alot better!
Drain some ;D

Keep the oil between the top and bottom marks. Read the owners manual. You also don't screw the dip stick in to check it Proper oil level is super important on the Ruckus because the piston will have to work against the oil if it's too high. BADBADBAD

Typically you won't have tooo much oil over fill - so:
Either take a syringe with a little tube on the end and suck some oil out, or you can use a straw - place in the the oil fill hole so the oil comes up the straw a little, put your thumb on the top of the straw and take out - you'll have to do this a few times but saves draining the oil out of the drain.
