I purchased a used Ruckus, It is fairly stock with exception of the guy put on one of the cheap Briggs mufflers for the exhaust. While I don’t mind it, and it seems to run OK, The idle is a bit rough, I actually had to shorten the idle spring to get the idle speed decent and keep from stalling, still not perfect but it’s OK, roughly 1800 rpm, bounces a little lower down to 1500is h but in the right area now, so I’m not too worried about that.
The issue I have is he couldn’t tell me if the carb was rejected, apparently he wasn’t the one who did the exhaust, so it runs rich. The plug gets black pretty quick and will foul out. I don’t want to assume. That it is factory jetted, but I don’t know where to start for sizing. All I know is it needs to be leaned out a bit. Any suggestions, because this is all new to me. Thanks!
