Hi All! I purchased a Ruckus that was sold as a non-runner. What the seller did not disclose is that engine case had been opened, put back together very poorly and filled with coolant on the first start attempt. So now I find myself in the middle of a full rebuild.
I honed the cylinder with an aluminum-oxide Flex-Hone to remove glazing and minimally effect the iron cylinder sleeve. In doing so I discovered an extremely small amount of pitting from the sitting coolant in one small section (perhaps 1mm x 10mm). It is very difficult to see but it does grab a fingernail. My sense is that my only option is to find a good case but I figured I'd first throw the question to this board. I have access to a lathe and mill or I could switch to a silicon-carbide Flex-Hone. My sense is that removing the pitting would require enlarging the bore by as much as .0080"/.10mm. That's essentially removing the thickness of a sheet of paper but perhaps even less. Thoughts?

Here's some pictures. It almost looks like nothing but it does grab a fingernail. It could be .001" or .002". Attachments:
