My 2022 NPS50. Less than a year old, only 2000 miles. Just started having issues.
It starts fine, idles fine but when I try to ride it, it doesn't go over 15 mph. It first started when I tried to start it one day, and it wouldn't start. First thing, I charged the battery using battery tender. After that it would start, but when I would throttle it up, it would stall intermittently.
So, I went through the learning curve.
I did the ECM reset, same problem. I went to the carb, pulled it apart, it is spotless. Cleaned the jets, but they were fine. Checked the vacum piston diaphram with the needle in the carb. All's good. Put the carb back in, still the same issue. Somewhere along the line after going through so many videos, I found a gentleman who had a similar issue and said he found out about the air hose that goes from the airbox to the top of the carb. The manual calls it the vacuum piston hose. I don't know whether there should be a vacuum or there should be air in that line but either way he said that it affects the needle moves that is attached to the vacuum piston diaphram in the carb and to check that. I don't see any cracks in the tube.
I had to take a step back and start thinking how this all started in the first place. The battery was dead initially. It is hard for me to believe that there would be multiple issues with near brand new honda ruckus. So now I am thinking it could be electrical and the only thing the battery can influence on the carb would be the throttle position sensor and the SE valve (choke).
Can anybody help me with this train of thought? And if it is electrical, what can I possibly do to on the TPS or choke to make sure that they are doing what they are supposed to do.
Thank you very much in advance in helping me with this. It has taken so much of my mental space the past few weeks that I am all about to lose hope.
