Noticing a slight raspy noise occasionally at high RPM (8000+)/ torque periods. Very similar to rev limiter noise. Anyone ever come across detonation/spark knock after big bore upgrade? Here's what the bike has so far:
2022 Honda Ruckus
- Wiseco 41mm Big Bore Piston, old flat top version - Cometic 0.020" MLS Head Gasket - Ported head - High Lift Cam + properly shimmed valves - ARP Head Bolts - Opened up intake with UNI Filter. - Lightened Flywheel - Dr Pulley 5G Sliders - Cold Spark Plug - Using High Octane Fuel
Jetting:
38 Slow, 2 Shim Needle, 80 Main (230lbs @ 2000ft+ elev.)
Still using stock exhaust and variator, averaging around 35mph, minor hills (Asheville city) around 25-30, downhill rev limiter kicks in at 42 ish. I went up from 35 slow to 38 and that had significantly improved pick up from dead stop. A/F mixture is screwed in near leanest setting. All is well except for that darn raspy noise sometimes, want to keep the ruck healthy.
