I have done everything you can imagine... I am tired of reading how people get 37mph out of this POS. Mine will not go over 30... period!
I have done everything!
New carb Tried every jet from 70 to 85 and it goes it from lean to rich with no performance gains.
Checked valves and they are literally perfect... I mean the lash is still set to factory spec
Changed plug... several times now got it where it’s burning light brown
Checked the speedo against a gps (it’s really that fucking slow)
Today was the last straw...
Changed the stock rollers with 5G dr pulley sliders... guess what? Now it bounces off the rev limiter going downhill, but still below 30 LOL
Anyone have any ideas??? Btw I weigh 193

Welcome to the forum blackheart! To be consistent with my tuning thoughts I'm going to recommend you get a single wire lawnmower tach off amazon or wherever you shop for like $20. It's a great aid for tuning. To dig right in I need to know what year your ruckus is as the 2005's without the pcv system were considerably slower than the 2006+ due to a carb redesign and a higher rev limit in the 2006+. To take some guesses and jump right into the parts that you might not have considered checking on. Have you looked at belt width, clutch pad wear, clutch bell wear, and brake adjustment? A worn belt won't travel as far up the variator as you'd expect, try drawing some sharpie lines on it to assess how far up the variator your belt goes. I'd recommend a clutch inspection to you because the heavier the ruck is the harder it is for the clutch to transfer the power. A worn clutch with a heavier rider generally doesn't move to quick as the clutch just slips all day. Additionally a dragging brake will slow you down considerably as it will do what brakes are meant to do. You could have the best tune a ruckus ever had but if any or all of the parts I just mentioned are worn out you'll be stuck with the speeds your seeing now. Hope this helps to point you in the right direction, looking forward to hearing back from you!

Wow, good post, thank you! I will check the items you mentioned... the belt with is within spec I know... as far as the clutch I’m not sure. Brakes are good and not dragging. I was thinking about the polini variator and a cdi box... I have several other scooters now and it just irritates me because this is the one I want to drive. Can you post pictures here?

Yes you can post photos, however you'll have to compress the image as the file size cannot be larger then 1MB! P.S. you can't do this from the mobile version of the forum

Well... I have checked everything.... I am so sick of this thing being a slug. I checked the tolerances and everything is good. The got a polini variator, NCY CDI box, and even tried mixing all kinds of roller and slider variations. It will not achieve past 30 on flat ground. It is stretched and lowered but this doesn’t seem to be an issue for other people.
Also, I picked up another clutch. After reading about the spacer. Unbeknownst to me, the internet lied. The spacer was said to be 5/8 or .625 the truth is the shaft is .660ish. So how thick and what diameter should the spacer be??? I tried using two recessed washers, and it drove. But when I took it apart the washers were stuck together and it didn’t seem right. Is the spacer just supposed to ride in the rubber seal of the case? Seems like it should be much wider so it isn’t eating the rubber away.
Someone tell me something good
