Hello all, thought I would pass some tuning information along to you.
The NCY Golden Variator is a wonderful piece of work with its low friction roller channels and smooth shallow shifting pattern. With that being said my results with it have been mixed? It goes against the grain when it comes to its functionality with sliders, by that I mean it actually variates less with a slider than it does with a roller of the same weight. A direct swap of rotating mass of 32G rollers to 32G sliders led to a 5km/hr decrease in top speed with the engine rotating at the same rpm. I would attribute this to the roller slides being so long and shallow, which goes against the grain of many other variators that have a rather steep transition at the outer edge of the slide. So keep to rollers if you want this variator to perform to its maximum potential.
Hope this information proves helpful to someone, enjoy!
