Hi I'm new to all this honda ruckus stuff but I recently came across a good deal on a 2006 honda ruckus. It just needed a new carb and new battery. It was running fine until one day I noticed the battery was not charging and eventually the bike woul die. My question is how do I properly check the charging system? I know the stator has alot to do with it. Any ideas anyone???

Ok so here's what I found out. After reading the owners manual and checking some parts. When I removed the radiator from the bike I noticed there was radiator fluid inside the stator housing. After testing the stator it seem to have shorted out due to the fluid. So ima need a new stator. now the reason the fluid was there in the first place was because of a torn Oring that goes between the radiator pipe to the engine. So a $3 piece just cost a $200 stator. Shm If anyone out there has a stator for sell plz lmk.

There are a large number of groups on facebook dedicated to Ruckus buy and sell. If you join a couple of those groups you may find a COMPLETE ENGINE BACK ASSEMBLY in the 200-300USD range. Many people go straight to a GY6 swap and just flog off the GET stuff for cheap because it's slow, and slow means cheap. I bought a complete engine that way for a spare and a buddy of mine who also has a ruck bought the Polini variator and TVR intake off of it so I got a few bucks back on the purchase and he got some good parts at a discount! Cheap parts are the best parts right? Hope you can find something thats gonna work for you!
