Hi,
This is my first thread. I found this help center out because of the issue I am having with my 2007 Ruckus.
2007 Ruckus that has been running great, I bought it with 1900 miles on it and it currently has 2350. Upgrades include 12v charger, fog lights, Aftermarket Gel battery, rollers, NCY High tension coil & Cap, NCY CDI. I was riding down hill and met the wall of the ruckus' speed which was 45mph+ (I have done so in the past just fine) It kept up for awhile and as the winding road continued the ruckus cut out and died. For lack of description, it basically turned off. I rolled to a stop and could no longer start the bike. The starter clicks over and sounds fine, same as fuel pump, the kick start circulates and sounds good. There was gas oil and power. Lights were on
No pop, no blue smoke, no indicator to tell me the engine is blow though that seems like my novice opinion.
Please help however possible. I started by replacing the Coil & Cap from Ruckusshop.com and included a new spark plug, friends tell me it may be battery- It had fuel? Where do I go from here. Please Please.
Lastly, I live in remote southeast alaska town and the ruckus is for off-road hunting on logging roads; there is no repair shops in town. (I enjoy the cruise and am kicking myself for trying to go fast)

Good afternoon from Coastal Vancouver Island! These rucks can comfortably play with the 9000rom range for awhile but if you were running it at 9-10K for 20 minutes you may have overheated the poor thing. My ruck would consistently kick start with a dead battery so I would say that the battery is not the issue. My advice to you would be to give it a quick compression test, should be around 170-210PSI with the throttle wide open. If that checks out you should do the oil and see if its got any coolant in it and check your radiator for oil. Look up "Subaru blown headgasket" and you'll see what signs to look for. Lastly pull the carb, clean it through and through as you may have pulled something that was seated in the carb into a jet given it was flowing at maximum capacity for awhile. If it's blown a headgasket you can either opt to replace it yourself, flog the ruckus to someone else, or buy a replacement engine in known running condition. Takes an afternoon to swap an engine out, these things are pretty simple. Hope that my little write up here gives you something to go off of and you get your ruck running soon, cheers!
