Hey guys, I'm somewhat new to honda ruckus scooters. I recently bought a used 2009 nps50s honda ruckus that has problems. It has around 4000 hours on it and it starts choking or cutting power around 25-30 mph, and wont let me go any faster than 30mph period. It kinda reminds me of the feeling you get when you downshift a car in higher rpms(but obviously it wont get faster).
So I decided to clean the carburetor (no effect), replace the slider weights and check out the whole cvt system (I think its fine), and I did the airbox delete mod with the new air filter and re-jetted carburetor. I am definitely a heavier rider, but I can still tell that the ruckus is still limiting itself. When I added the new air filter and jets, it definitely runs a lot better, but it still bogs as if there's an early rev limiter.
I was thinking it could be something to do with my valves, air to fuel ratio, or even possibly my exhaust.
Has anyone had similar problems? Any help would be appreciated. I've run out of ideas.

Late to the party here but I have ideas assuming you haven't figured things out already. Go onto Amazon and buy a cheap lawnmower tach, like 20 bucks and it's a single wire tach that will give you your rpm. Hondas use a wasted spark ignition so you'll have pretend its a 2 stroke on the tach to get the right rpm. Your max RPM of stock would be 8850 rpm at around 42MPH when everything os TIP-TOP. Big things to look at are: 1. Is your clutch worn or slipping? 2mm depth or less and it should be replaced, without the tach to tell you you could actually be bouncing off the limiter due to clutch slip 2. Are your brakes dragging? If they are that can lower your top speed and keep the rpms down. 3. Are your tires underinflated? Same as above the extra drag can lower your speed and keep the rpms down 4. Is your drive belt worn out? If it's thinner than 0.680 inches, its worn out and wont get you to the speeds you're looking for before bouncing of the limiter. Without a tach to guide you you'll just ve guessing, and with me being on the other end of a computer, I'm just guessing myself. Hope you already sorted out your ruck, or that this helps you with your issue!
