hi all!
so we recently got an older ‘09 ruckus. It had been sitting for about 9 years, but had recently been my father-in-law’s project, he changed a lot, carburetor, gas tank, gas pump, battery, etc. He gave it to us to finish the project, and we seem to be hitting a road block. The gas pumps, but when we try to start it it won’t start. Spritzing engine starter or syringing gas from the back of the carburetor in will make it start. We’ve cleaned out the carburetor twice, each time the ruckus seems to fire up with less issue, the first time it ran for about 15 minutes then died, cleaned the carb again, this time able to remove the top of the main jet, plugged everything back in and she started up again. This time she ran for about 30 minutes then died again. There’s definitely a gas issue but the pump works, and engine starter works for about a second but doesn’t stick. Any help on where to start looking for issues is greatly appreciated. We’ve debated new jets or wether we need a whole new carburetor, it seems to die whenever we give it a lot of throttle, like full throttle and then it peters out. Any ideas?
