So this is my first post on Ruckus central! I was a member on the original TotalRuckus back in the day and have been modding and tuning scooters for several years now. This build was inspired by the AC Ace's smooth lines, wire mesh wheels, and performance focus. I tried to bring those aspects into this build, while keeping the build as reliable as possible.
As far as reliability is concerned, it was a struggle up until now. My carb would constantly need to be cleaned, half the time I'd go to start it it would not want to and only would after the carb was cleaned out completely... Everything else on the bike is reliable but the carb was constantly giving me trouble. Then, a few weeks ago my buddy and I were trying to take the Metruckus out for a ride and she totally wouldnt start. We could get her to run for about 2 seconds on carb cleaner. I took the carb apart and cleaned it real quick and threw it back on and she started. Then I sat down on the seat and rpms dropped a bunch. Look under the seat and sure enough the intake boot is town right across the middle. Later that night, while I was cruising around looking at bike parts on the internet I came across an EFI conversion kit. I see this as an act of mercy and kindness on the part of the universe after crushing my hopes of creating a reliable bike while my friend was there to watch. I had been looking around for a decent EFI kit for a while and had only found the cheap Aliexpress/Ebay kits which offer no tunes to start with and limited tuning support.
Enter, Rolling Wrench EFI kit. I am one of the beta testers for this kit, so I am talking with the guy that made the kit regularly and getting all the tuning support necessary. Additionally, his kit is of much better design than a lot of those other kits, as it has a base tune already loaded that will at least get your ruckus started once the kit is plugged in and it will ultimately run pretty well on this base tune albeit not perfectly, but there is a handheld tuner available as an $80 option with the kit that allows you to edit the fuel trim in 500 rpm increments on the fly. Its very intuitive, has literally 5 buttons and makes tuning easier and a lot quicker. Additionally, it has one extra dial which you can use to open the injectors longer to tune for a big bore kit.
Lot going on with this one, so let's dive Right in with the current build list:
