I have seen online that there is a gear set in which you can change out and get a bigger top speed . Has anyone out there done this and was the time and effort worth it ?

it's 2 gears from a met, it's on a few of the main ruckus parts stores. my friend made it sound pretty easy, he said it was a good mod after a big bore or a highly moded engine already. squeezing out a little more at the top end I think is the benefit. then I googled it and found this battlescooter.proboards.com/thread/2696/transmission-rebuild-metro-gears-installlooks like an excellent right up, clear pics and instructions

My engine I bone stock except for the Kitaco variator, so I am wondering if its beneficial to do without the big bore kit . I think I will order the gears and do it myself if it gets me a couple of kms per hour faster . I will check out the link you posted and see what is involved ..
Thanks again

I'm no pro. But for a stock ruckus I think the gear change out is not too beneficial. I would try maximize speed from the cvt and cdi then intake and exhaust and see if you want to keep going.
From what I understand unless you've squeezed the ruckus motor to get the most out of it the taller gears are going give you very slow acceleration until the motor can push it into those higher speeds the gears would allow.
