Bought a Ruckus this weekend and it won't start. I turn the key on and the blue relay clicks, the speedometer lights up for a second and then goes off. If I press the starter button the blue relay makes a buzzing but nothing else happens . The battery, fuses and relays are all new. I am both mechanically and electrically inclined but have never worked on a ruckus. Any help would be appreciated?

do you have the kill switch in the right position? holding the lever when hitting start button? What about kick starting?

Thanks for the response yes the brake is on and verified the kill switch is good and in correct position. Kick starting does not work either. I have seen people with this problem on multiple forums but no one seems to post a solution.

Have you checked whether you are getting spark?

My electrical troubleshooting is very rudimentary and basically consists of replacing components, but if you are handy with a multimeter you could save some expense.
I am putting together a troubleshooting guide and have no fuel finished, but I am still working on no spark.

Some new batteries only come half charged (and may have sat on shelves for months if not years), definitely worth confirming your pulling a full 12v to start with - and whether it drops significantly when trying to start.

The battery is new and fully charged, all fuses and relays are new and test good. I have 3 running ruckuses in the garage sitting next to it. I have swapped ecu, fuel pump, resistor, igniter.....basically the only thing I have not done is replace ignition, turn signals, horn, speedometer and wiring harness. I'm out the point where I'm going to just gut one of the others that isn't as nice. Hoping someone can help and keep me from just junking one. I'm an electrician and mechanic and I know from experience that this is not the kind of problem that I want to take to a Honda dealer because this is a very time consuming problem to troubleshoot. BTW I bought this from a motorcycle shop that put the new parts in it but gave because it was too time consuming.

Have you swapped out rec/reg and CDI yet with known working ones? Sound like you should have enough parts on hand to do this quite easily.

Yes I have but to no avail...going to disconnect all aux items ie turn signals, horn, lights, indicators etc. If that doesn't work I will pull the harness

I have a couple ideas for you and a question if you want to give them a shot. So first is the question: Does it kick start? If it does then you can pinpoint it as being an issue with power draw off of the battery. My two ideas for you would be to: 1) Start looking for a bad ground to either the frame or engine 2) Check that you have continuity across all relays and switches when in the "start" configuration. Also if your metro has an improperly wired aftermarket CDI it can cause you some grief as well.
