So I have 17 ruckus and I need to stiffen up the rear suspension. 1st off I am over the weight limit and my wife and I ride together all over Galveston. What can I do to get some suspension on the rear. Any help is great. I did put on a new adjustable shock but I think it's worst now then before.

I just bought my 2018 Ruckus last week and am also over the weight limit. Didn't care, it looks fun. Bombing around town, I found I was bottoming out the stock shock. I did a lot of research and kept finding the answer was to upgrade to a Honda Elite 80 shock. It has different shock rates and a progressive coil spring. Ordered a new one from my dealer for $89 and installed two days ago. Day and night difference. No bottoming out and, on the harsh Michigan roads, smoothed out the bumps pretty well.

I got a shock off a Chinese scooter with a heavier & longer spring. Free, so that's for me. I don't bottom out, I have more compression if I add weight. Only drawback is my center stand doesn't lift the rear wheel off the ground.
