2009 50cc stock ruckus bought used. Has run well for 2 years. Always a small hesitation mid throttle but idle and wide open were great. Ride average once a week. If longer, takes a few minutes to start and have to rev gently (think fuel is gumming). Filled tank with premium to try to help With gum. Rode no problem. A week ago, stop at a stop sign and engine dies. Restart but runs poorly. Nurse home. Take apart carb and clean. Low speed jet clogged. Clean all, reassemble. Starts great and idles well. Opening throttle, engine is normal. Mid throttle to wide open...hesitating, bogs down. Clean carb again. No joy. Suspect fuel pump and filter might not be supplying at higher power demands. Replace fuel pump and filter. Blow both ways through one way check valve...operates normally. Shook old fuel pump-rattles, new pump-nope. New pump and filter don't fix. Can go 10-12 mph then bog city if throttle advanced. Hesitates jumping and jerking. Reset ECM...no joy. Spark plug is tan. Plug zaps well. Can anyone help? Suggestions? could bad TPS cause? Air leak?

Reviving an old thread here but did you ever figure out your problem? I’m having similar issues

I am having the same issue... here is what I posted on another thread: Having the same issue with my 09 ruck...hit a bump (hard) and lost all power but will still idle...pulled the tank (which was rustier on the outside than an 09 should be (painting it now that it is out after treating with ospho) I can blow through the fuel filter just fine...can hear the fuel pump click when the key is turned on (no gas tank installed presently). I removed the variator per a previous post and confirmed that the rollers were ok...they seem to be...pulled the air cleaner housing off and unloaded some carb cleaner into the fuel mixer (carb/injection system)....still mysterious found a link that might prove helpful....possible fuel pump issue...work around: www.youtube.com/watch?v=1vDnqREJkok(and my next post today) I ran the bike without the fuel pump by elevating the fuel tank to seat level (see video link above) ...same behavior, idles well then cuts sputters and dies when the throttle is open...have disassembled the carb and it is soaking in cleaner now...did no see any obvious blocking of the jets but will blow them out up on re assembly....would appreciate thoughts on this... if you think I am missing something...weird that it
