Hello Everyone my name is Cameron, ive owned a 09 ruckus for about 3 years now, purchased it brand new with only 2 miles on the odometer when i was 16. ive been through a lot with this one and it hasn't let me down in any situation i was in. it now reads (3059.3) on the odometer and i figured its time for some upgrades to get more power and speed out of my little ruck. im 180 .Lbs and the top speed on my ruck is 38-39 on good days.
For my first upgrade i want to install new roller weights in my stock variator because i don't have that much money and i heard it gives you more mph. anyway i want to know what would be the best gram weight to get the most performance and speed out of my stock variator with my current weight of 180 Lbs.
Thank you for reading.

Getting a set of stock metropolitan rollers would be the cheapest option, they last longer than aftermarket and give you a bit more pick-up

The most cost efficient change to a scooter is usually the variator, as it can give you more bang for the buck that any other mod, the easiest and most cost wear efficient is a set of metropolitan rollers as they are lighter and give better acceleration for light to medium weight riders, if you are over 180lbs then you have to look to the aftermarket, polini, posh and some others seem to be good, they do not last as much as the stock units but they have a tune ability, you can not have with the stock, stock weights (rollers) are cylindrical in shape, there the name rollers, sliders are a variation and the have a polygon shape so the have flat surfaces expose to the ramps and give more positive action, the drawback is that they tend to wear match to the ramps, so if you take it apart you have to mark everything to make sure they go back to where they came from, or they will wear PRETTY FAST and have some funky action plus are expensive
