Any GOOD engine motor oil should do, about the mufflers, both look good, but the second one will keep the gas speed higher so "should" have more middle end power than the first one, the only thing i do not like is that both are riveted so they might get noisey as they age, but since i have not use any of them i might be wrong

a 2stroke pipe for a 4stroke ruckus

Yes it LOOKS like a two stroke pipe (well actually is an expansion chamber exhaust but with larger gas passages), but is a very efficient pulse killer for a straight pipe so you can get away with a smaller muffler and low restriction, however is a heavy set up, oh but it sounds like a sports car

so its doesnt' matter which brand of motor oil etc? i was thinking mobil 1 or quaker state or the honda one they suggest, or even go-kart oils that ppls says is reallly good for power. I want to get some motor oil that can make my engine perform to the max of its potential Yea i like the first exhaust, and it looks really good, but i was worried that it would affect low and mid range power because ive learned with car that has NA engines, if the engine breathes too good, you would sacrifice low end acceleration. On the ruckus, losing acceleration is sad because from the start it doesn't have much acceleration already.......I want to improve the acceleration of the RUckus the most of all!

Chuck: great post, now the newbies and some of the veterans who don't want to read or don't have a manual will know exactly how to do it right. I had to search for a trans filling funnel to reach the oil filler without spilling any on both my little and big rucki. ;D

The reason they have a requirement to not use energyconserving oils is because they have friction modifiers that can damage the wet clutch, WHICH WE DO NOT HAVE, sadly they pick up from the need of all the motorcycles engines honda made, but, WE ARE SPECIAL So even though it says so in the service manual it is not true Actually it should be better with an energy conserving oil

MOBIL 1 full synthetic, pours like water slicker than wet shoes on a waxed floor.(Wanna wait till maybe 3rd change to go synthetic to make sure engine is worn in a bit) Sam's Club by me has 6 paks of 10-30 for about $23. Good for average temps. below 80f. Need to find the 10-40 for the heat of the summer. [glow=red,2,300]Chanito knows!! [/glow]Don't need to use bike specific oil!!!

i was able to find fullsyn 10-30 mobil 1 around $7.88 at walmart and thinking to get it, sorry to ask but why does the engine have to be worn in with nearly 2000 miles to use it?

why does the engine have to be worn in with nearly 2000 miles to use it? Personally, I'm on my 3rd oil change @ just past 1600mi. I just went Mobil 1 @ around 1600. Most of my trips are very short 5-10 minutes (my daily commute is all of 2 minutes) and the oil gets dark w/dirt in a hurry. Modern oil change schedules found recommended by manufacturers are a bit optimistic in my view. If my engine goes because I followed their advice and waited till the odometer matched the specified #'s I might be doing more than changing the oil and I don't think HONDA will be picking up the tab. I think 5-600 mile intervals would leave you better safe than sorry. Be sure NOT to over fill, it will slow you down like an anchor.

So it shouldn't damage say if i changed to synthetic oil at around 250-300km? its because i don't think i will be reaching 1000km anytime soon since i only ride the ruckus for fun like a bike around the neighbourhood, but im eager to get the mobil 10-30!

Stupid question. Why?

sorry coz from the big ruckus, everyone recommends switching to full synthetic oil as a performance upgrade, and i thought it would be good for the little rucki too. but alot of users recommend to reach around 1000miles to change and i was curious why. As for the company mobil 1, i want to try out if its really that good since in the bmw m3 engine compartment they have a sign that says to specifically use mobil 1 engine oil only

We have somewhere in here a discution about oils, but anyway i can tell you as a mechanic that syntethic oils are not as great as somepeople thinks, sure they are good and last longer than regular oils, but if you change you oil regularlly you can save a lot of money by using a good crude oil base oil, the reason hi end manufacturers recommend syntethic oil is to prevent sludge built up in engines that do not get the oil changed regurlarlly, i have used regular and syntethic oils in racing engines and never could get a significant increase in hp just by using either, however peace of mind is priceless, so if you have to have it go ahead, by the way the reason they recoment to stay away from syntethics during the first few hundred miles is that these oil are super sticky and stay in the metal surfaces longer preventing the normal heat cycles that make an engine cure properlly

wow your so good with mechanical stuff and the ruckus! i just have one more question, :S because that day i checked my ruckus's oil level (on its kickstand and running 2-3 minutes etc as taught in manual) and found out that the oil level is about 1-2cm above the high level, that should not harm the engine right??? because im kinda reluctant in draining that little oil out because i think it will get really messy since there is no way (or maybe im wrong) to stop the oil thats pouring out from the drain other than doing it the messy way and stick the plug in while the oil splash all over me hehe, and also because i don't have a torque wrench to wrench it to the specified torque.....sorry im kinda a noobb with mechanical stuff !

I used a straw through the oil filler like I was taught here on RC. ;D

8-)Autopart stores sell a little bulb designed to put water in the batt, they work wonderfull for sucking, but the old method of inserting a straw, cover the end and then take it with waterever oil is inside works like a champ ;D

Sure beats taking the drain bolt out and trying to let just a little bit out without dumping oil all over you and the floor.
