The Ramp Plate issues

I have the taken off my Ramp Plate and the Drive Pulley Face. The Ramp Plate has heat color from friction and is almost worn through the aluminum where it connects the drive face boss to the back. The threading is worn on the drive face.

I was wondering what might have caused this wear in these parts so when i reassemble i can prevent that from happening. Any ideas?
