Lots of good info here. So what's the deal with the high oil levels in some of the Ruckuses. I bought mine used and it came with a high level. I changed it right away and the level eventually climbed right back up to overfull. Used oil did smell like gasoline. I have a theory. I live in a northern climate. Since the engine is water cooled and I do a lot of shorter trips, condensation is dripping into the crankcase. water and gas. Does this make sense. Would like to hear from anyone with some ideas. thanks

You are doomed to have oil changes at very short intervals or start doing longer runs , on a serious note you should do an oil change and make sure you put only .6 liters of oil (less than a quart)ride your scooter for about 20 minutes (the longer the better) and then measure your oil again, if ok then just ride longer, if not, check your carb, you might need a new float

I live in Ontario, Canada and have never noticed this. I drive my Ruckus year round. I doubt that's what's causing it. You could have coolant leaking in if your head gasket or something was damaged but you would notice some seriously grey/ugly looking oil if there's actually enough stuff getting in to noticably raise the level.

Well i understood that the oil had a gas smell, so i took the coolant leak out of the equation, the carb floats are not adjustable and can if bad allow a high gas level, which can create rich running at low throttle openings, and that would explain the extra gas in the oil
