so, i have a stock 07 and i weigh about 145 (most of the threads on variators are concerning people heavier them me) my idea was a KN with 6g metro weights. sound ok? will that possibly give me both better hill climbing and slightly more top end? i'll take more of any thing but am not willing to sacrafice either hill or top speed. what happens if i just put 6g weights in the stock variator? are there any long term repercussions to running constant higher rpms (like i will with the KN) that i should know about? also, are there any cdi's that will not be a risk to my electric start? (i won't sacrafice my electric start for hill bombing power, i'd probably just get the one that allows for 9500rpm max) how much go do you get from lightening the fly wheel? me thanks you much.

guess this may have been better in the "after market" section.... whatever. also i have bloopers. which i like, but for the record tires don't make you go faster.

The KN variator is the safest buy of any variator period......... 6gr Met rollers should be perfect for you.
CDI's are virtually a waste to spend money on. I would put Met gears in before I spoil my electric system to gain a few MPH. Met gears are cheaper than most CDI's anyhow.
6gr rollers in a stock variator will give you better acceleration but no more topend possibly less?
Can't comment first hand on the flywheel.....

CDI is a bogus upgarde- do it if you want higher revs (for whatever marginal purpose) and higher fuel/air ratios or mixes. DONT DO IT for performance- stuff is moot. i recommend the Dayton Drag variator with 6g rollers or lighter. if you want more torque (which i love) the pop in some better clutch springs and a better pulley spring. those 2 is where a CDI can help. but going with jetting/intake/cdi is not the way brosef
