1. put a car muffler on ruckus. 2. try it out. if it runs good, leave the carb alone. 3. if it doesn't run good, take the carb apart and change the jets until it runs better.

WHY do you want to put a car muffler on a ruckus? And by muffler, I assume you really just the end can which is really just a straight-through resonator kind of like this... Right? If so, I must advise against it. You'd be better off picking up an MX slip-on silencer and modifying the pipe to fit. Something like this The car silencer would probably be too much of a hassle to actually fit, but either way, you'll just increase flow so much that you'll probably do have to tinker with the carb a bit. Look here: battlescooter.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=howto&action=display&thread=2723To see how that's done.

I think is a bad idea, most car mufflers are at least 2 inches in diameter at the intake, the ruckus is 3/4 of an inch so fitting it will require some fabrication, plus those mufflers are heavy and would probably behave like an open pipe instead of a muffler so noise will still be a problem no anti-reversion effect (unless you get very lucky with the length of the pipe, YOUR ODDS ARE BETTER AT WINNING THE LOTTO) but try it maybe we are wrong and you are into something

I predict a loss in performance....................... A dramatic change to the exhaust will almost certainly require a carb and intake change.
