I decided to add a female plug to have the ability to charge my battery with a Battery tender or to be able to charge my cell phone or numerous other things you could use a plug for. I purchased the plug from Columbus Vespa. It's a Powerlet Plug (# PSO-001) with a spring loaded cover which helps keep rain and junk from inside the plug. I removed the battery box and carefully eyeballed where the plug should go and not get interference from anything mounted to the battery. Once the location was determined I put painters tape over the area and with a magic marker scribed a circle that was to be cut out. I selected a small drill bit and carefully drilled small holes on the ID of circled area. The I got my dremel out with a carbide bit and proceeded to elongate the holes under I was able to cut through into the adjacent one finally cutting through all and popping out the piece. I changed the bit to a carbide ball tip and made sure the hole was smooth and symmetrical. I took the powerlet and fit it into the hole and used the mounting hardware that came with the plug. From there is was simple to hook up the wires. I had a cloth shielded wire which was abrasion resistant and was able to run the wires under the battery hold down. I made sure I used die electric grease on all connections, refit the battery box and plugged the Battery Tender in and it worked as it should withe a red charging light coming on and in about 10 minutes the light went Green. That's it hope it helps. Wardie
PS I tried to load seveal puics and theyt were too big. I even tried just one and it was too big. If someone could tell me how to reduce them I could then post them.
