I have used KN, polini, and a new D variator.. and im happiest with my D variator hitting 49 mph no cdi, just variator, rejetted, and exhaust. On flats i weigh 180lbs

perfect, i I have heard things of 50 mph, and ive noticed with my new exhaust and tune I get up to 40 faster than I used to, so with the new variator 50 should be a problem

Anyone got a link for this D variator? I'm not finding much....... I'd like to try it...........
Choosing a variator depends on a few factors. Rider weight, terrain, and engine mods.
The safe buy is the KN variator it allows for better acceleration across the board for riders of all sizes.
If you are under 170lbs on flat terrain then the Polini is best. however to tap into the higher mph the Polini offers you often need to have the engine pretty well tuned with big bore kit and cam. Stock motors typically just dont have the power to tap into the higher gearing of the Polini unless you are a small rider.

Ok I like the idea of the KN variation for wider range of rider weights (share the ruckus with much lighter daughter), but what size wights do you recommend to go with it for wider range. The idea is to gain more power and speed.
