... Helo felow RUCKSTERS! I have read almost evry single post here since buying my 08' new 1 year ago. I have 1 great ruck (like there all not great). No wind I have gps'd 46 on flats 50 dowdhill w/ stock internals, stock carb w/ tune,& stock exhaust. but my question is, with my custom intake being the only flow mod i've done I had to bring the main jet up to 92 to get some color on my plug. it avrages 75 degrees here and im at dead sea level. This seems a bit high to me. the only thing i can think of is the last time i took the top half of the carb apart i had truble geting the ruber seal on my needle piston to seat , it seemed to be to big or streched out or somthing. I guess if it were not sealed properly vacum would leak and the needle wouldnt rise as far. Can any one think of another reason that im using a 92 main in the sumer to get proper afr or could this be normal. Im new to the world of small engines as i tune inline 4's for a living. sorry for the lenth guys but it is my first post after just reading for a year p.s. keep up the voodo that you do do so very well also im am not to computer savy so would somone explain in detail ho to add a pic of my ruck from my pic folder. Thanks, brandocalo

I am already tired of saying this, but first adjust the idle mixture before any jetting is to be done, i would adjust the mixture and then do some full throttle runs with a hot engine to determine better top end jet, forget about reading the color of the plug, unless you do that for a living, just changing brand of gas will change color on the plugs, use the butt dyno and ride it untill it is fastest

Thanks for the input . I love All your posts you are the tuning wizard ;D, but my i.m. screw is in good ajustment. What do you think about what i said about the needle piston , have you ever had truble geting it seated? list of mods- polini variator,6 gr met weights, bs clutch sprins, bs coil & wire, ngk iridium, polini oversized belt, custom intake, 92mjet, 35sjet, 1 coil trimed, no rear fender, single fog type lamp, lowered taillight, homemade low seat, sigle miror... 46-47 flats , 49-50 downhill oh and did i mintion i weigh in at a stunning 210lbs ha ha

It is jeted for the fastest top speed, and i never use any thing but chevron 89 consistantly. but from others experiances 92 just sounds a little high for sumer.
