Hi guys,
I have bin reading you a lot in the last year . I got a 03 ruckus last spring to slack
the gaz bill on my F-150... I had no clue what i was getting myself into!!! Thanks to
you-guys , i always found an answer to my questions so far . But now im stuck.
My ride:
2003
Chanito's BB kit
shein wey pc-20 carb kit now running 35-95 jets
K&N air filter ( the big One )
Yoshi pipe
malossi variator 5.5 g
blue springs
new belt
Kitaco cdi
Tagegawa tach
My problem:
Everything is new and beeing put together for the firs time . I drove it for 20 miles only .
It starts , keeps idle, accelerates well, no bug putting it to WOT , and then at about 6500 rpm / 30 mph it hits the rev limiter .( im pretty sher with the sounds it makes !)
Its verry loud to . It doesent sound right so i have to let go the gaz and the compression makes it hard to keep at a steady speed witch is at this point 20 mph...
Both tach and cdi are properly wired as of the great how-to on this site. The cdi was working well last summer on the stock engine...
It also hits the rev-lim early at, 6500 and not at 8900... That is if the tach is well set , cause i cant tell wich setting on the tach
is right since i cant go more then 6500 rpm or 7200 with the compression when i let go the gaz...! Some setting are telling me it idles at 800 and other at 2200 rpm... I changed the main jet from 80 to 105 and i dont see much difference not to say no difference. that tells me its not reving high ennough to make a difference... ?
Questions:
How do i know if the cdi is not damage ? .( I shorten some wires once or twice and busted a couple fuses.)
Even with no cdi i should be able to go higher then that , no ?
So ,
Could something else cause what im seeing as the rev limiter beeing hit?
What hapen with the timing sensors that where conected to the stock carb? Could timing have something to do with anything?
Im a bit lost.
Any help would be very welcome
