Umm.....well.....I bought another scooter and it's not a Ruckus. I picked up an '09 Yamaha YW125, known as the BWS 125 in Canada and the Zuma 125 in the USA. I really wanted another Ruck, but my wife has a Vespa LX 150 and we really want to ride together so a mid-sized scooter made more sense. I take delivery of it in a couple weeks. This is my first scooter with some enclosed underseat storage, so I'm excited for that. It's also my first fuel injected and 4-valve scoot. I'm going to change the headlights to the Euro spec ones because Yamaha's bug eyed headlights are too cute and cheesy looking. Here's a few pics...mine will be blue but I suspect it's going to get painted pretty darn quick.

As much as I dislike zumas, I have no doubt that you'll do it right. I also think the 125 is a much better jumping off point. Glad to hear you'll be on two wheels soon.

Wow, I do not like that front end at all.

Wow, I do not like that front end at all. Which one? The stock bug eye headlights or the vertical asian setup? I don't like the stock setup at all either.....and I think the Asian setup is better but still only mediocre. Here's better shots of both setups (pardon the large pictures):

As much as I dislike zumas. Yeah I dislike Zuma's too....the fact that it's a Zuma has been the hardest thing to get over. I like the 125cc version a lot better than the 50cc version but I still can't stand the overly cute headlights. I really wish Honda made a mid-sized Ruck. Supposedly Honda is bringing the SH150 to North America this summer as an early 2010 model, but that scooter is a boring big wheeled commuter. I don't think it's going to sell very well. With my wife having a 150cc scooter, my choices were pretty limited since I needed a scoot that cruises at atleast 55mph. Short of buying an 80's Elite 150 or Aero 125, there are no Honda's in this catagory. I could have gone bigger than 150cc but I want to retain the small scoot feel, and the one common thing that all reviewers of the Zuma 125 say is that it still retains the fun factor of a small scoot. Physically, it's barely bigger than the 50cc version.

Don't care for the verticle headlights. I'd have to see our version again (I sat on one a few weeks ago, I ought to remember).
But, yeah, I get your pain over getting a scooter that goes.

I think the bugeyed american setup looks better than the vertical setup, there's just something odd about the the vertical lamps. But, somewhere, there's an Aprilia Sportcity One 125 that's sad it didn't get bought ;_; Yeah I know, I'm an Aprilia 'tard -_- Dude, that's NOT large. Those are damn near thumbnails.

The sportcity 125 isn't sold in Canada....just the USA. Here's another couple pictures.....maybe I need a poll on this one. I love the Ruckus's bug eye headlights but the Zuma ones are just too cute and plastic looking.

You test rode the Zuma 125? I've heard different things about the seat. Some reviews complain about it (CMGonline.com) but others love it (Scooter Canada).
Keep the votes coming guys!

I don't think I liked the seat, but I only sat on it.
I'll tell you what I really didn't like was the floorboard on the Vox..., err, C3 or whatever they call it.

Have you guys seen the Cuxi 100? It's kinda like a big brother to the C3/Vox but it's quite a bit nicer. I still don't really like it, but it's a lot less ugly.

You have to keep your feet pointing in on both, but the smaller (50cc) is worst, the big one does not let you move your feet once you are sitting, so getting your feet in and out at stops is kind of annoying Even the metro has way more feet room,

Maybe you could just mount up a set of ruckus lamps and rack. I like the vertical more than to zuma lights, but I think the surrounding plastics could be better.
