I don't think the engine stopped to run, I saw some engine that did not run for more than 3 years starting again, at the worse it may just be hard to start for the first time I think.

;D Hi kitty It would be a good idea to get your scooter running again, replace the oil, remove the spark plug and using the kick starter (with the ignition off) turn the engine a couple of times, then put the spark plug back on, switch the ignition on and try to start her, if she starts, take her for a spin, she deserves it, if not spray some starting fluid on the air filter case and try again. Good luck ;D

I would also put some fresh gas in her if you're having a hard time getting it started.
Hopefully all the melting snow and heavy rain doesn't wash your scooter away in Vancouver. I'm up in Whistler right now and we're getting a lot of snow.

It snowed pretty good Monday.....34 cm (13"). I'm here for a while....at least until the end of the summer. We should get lots of good snow dumps before the season is over.

Take a picture for me. I'm curious as to what snow looks like. Sorry for the slow response. Here's a few pics from that day (all of me): The night before the snow was coming down fast: We were the first ones up the hill: Here's me bured in the powder after I crashed (I'm on the right): A little blurry but this run was awesome. I had fun blasting off this rock. If this picture was crisp and a second later when I had completed the ski grab it would have been a nice powder shot. Nice drop: I hit the biggest drop I ever hit....didn't land this one. I'm clearing the flat cat track and then landing on the down slope which starts after the ski poles. The next day.....A little shifty over this ridge:

Damn DD-- I hate you so much right now! The mountain we have here is steep and small so it's great for getting good quick. When I went to Whistler for the first time a couple years ago it ABSOLUTELY BLEW MY MIND! Huge HUUUUUUGE mountain with the most perfectly shaped kickers in the terrain park. I hit the EXTREME terrain park or whatever it's called, after a few days of getting used to the jumps in all the other parts. I hit a monster that kicked me a good 25 ft high and close to 40 ft long and still barely cleared the lip. Just about "edit profanity" my pants and have always craved to go back for more. If you ever come down to Oregon, let me know and I'd love to take some runs with you. -- Oh and F- yeah for rockin skis still. Sometimes it feels like I'm part of a dying breed... Sorry for the off topic rant... Anyway, I had a met that I bought that was an 03 with 83 miles on it when I got it in 07. It sat forever in a lonely storage shed. Everything worked great but the fuel pump ended up being bad on it so it only would run for 1 mile down the road before the float bowl was empty. So DEFINITELY drain the gas and put fresh stuff with maybe just the tinniest bit of seafoam in the tank. Good Luck

Thanks......Whistler is huge. It amazes me how much terrain this is....it's kinda daunting to try to get to know it all.
Hitting huge jumps like that is a big rush. I was in the 'Nintendo Highest Level' park about 2 weeks ago and I was pretty nervous hitting those jumps for the first time. It's scary to commit like that because you gotta go off with a ton of speed or you'll come up painfully short.

Yup- that's the park! I love that bowl to skiers left when you get off the uppermost lift to the top of Whistler. Always good powder there but the entrance is a little sketch. Also the cliff bands up and to the left of the uppermost lodge on Whistler. Be careful with your stuff though, my coworker got his truck with everything in it stolen at Whistler. Have fun and be safe man!

I know what you mean about the bowl at the top of whistler. They just opened the peak chair this past weekend for the first time all season (due to avalanche danger) so I was just riding this bowl a few days ago.....and again this morning! Fun stuff was it was really foggy in their this morning.

Take as much of that old, nasty, varnished gas out of the tank as you can (turkey baster maybe?). put in some fresh fuel with a cup or so of Seafoam. you can get this stuff at the auto parts store. it will clean your carb. out pretty good. replace the spark plug per manual. turn it over with full throttle for a few seconds to get the fuel to the carb. then let go of the throttle and it should start up nicely. take it for a spin to get it up to operating temp. then change the oil!!
also....if its going to sit again for more than a few weeks, put Stabil in it with a full tank. it is a gas stabilizer that prevents breakdown and varnishing of the gas. then make sure to start the scoot once a week or so. you can find this stuff at your local auto parts store too.

I cup seems like WAY TOO MUCH seafoam for a 1+ gallon tank. Check the direction on the bottle first!

well i'ved used a whole bottle of it in a 4 gallon tank, and burned through it as fast as I could. but then again that was a 1000cc v twin. maybe a half cup for these little 50's.
