Hi everyone, thought we'd stop by and say hello from Kilauea, Hawaii........ Here's a few Pic's of our New '09 Ruck, and the Mods done so far! Anyway, we love our new toy..............more mods to follow. Bye for now! P.S. the last Pic for those that aren't familiar with the Unit, is the Oil Drain Valve made in Japan by Fumoto......Great timesaver no mess no fuss.

Looking good....I've seen those drain valves before but never in a size that fit the Ruckus. That's awesome you found one.
What brand of kickstand is that? I really like how you can still run pegs too.

Well, in answer to the Yosh Question.....I LOVE the Quality of Build, Design and looks of the Exhaust...but, there is a small loss in pickup performance (Re-Jet) and as a few other members have said, "it's To Loud" so, before going back to the Stock unit, I'm Designing several small Silencers to try out....if they don't work, back to stock. As far as the Drain Valve goes, here's the Link to the Fumoto Dealer: www.lubricationspecialist.com/front/showcontent.aspx?fileid=105You need the Model #F109 12mm-1.5 plus the F109 Extension found in accessories...also, thro in a few of the Spring Clamps that you use as a Safety as seen in My Picture. It keeps the Lever from being turned to "On" by inquiring minds. The KickStand is a Kijima from BattleScooter (Great People to Deal With) and the Pegs are a copy of Fellow Group Member "Filippino" great Idea...thank you. The only Design change I made was to Mount the 5" SAE Bolt in my Lathe and turn the threaded end to proper size and re-thread it 10mm-1.25 to match the Kijima's mount size....worked very well. Hope that answers any questions...if not, let me know, Take care!

Thanks for the info! I'm looking at the drain plug website you listed and it shows the model F109 and the F109N, which has the hose nipple. It seems to me the 'N' version would be easier to use. How does the oil come out of yours? Do you need to remove a cap on the end with an Allan key? Or does it come out the silver door at the back?
Lastly, do I really NEED the extension? Does it hit without this? Or is it just easier to use?
Thanks!

Yeah Dan there's a problem....you can't use the Valve alone....it hits a rib in the case casting, so by buying the extension, removing the blue washer on it....then putting some high temp yellow pipe compound on the Valves threads and assemble.....it extends the Valves tower out far enough to miss about 90%. I took the Dremel and just relieved the Brass edges on the Valve Tower on each side a tiny bit, so it's easy with an open end wrench to install with just alittle rub......a hint: be sure to slide valve lever to "OPEN" when installing. as for the "N" or nipple version of the valve....i would have loved to have it, but with the extension, the valve, then the nipple, I felt it was just to vulnerable to getting hit ....would be bad news for the case. Mine works great though, oil comes out at the same place as the nipple version right into and empty oil bottle or pan. Hope that helps... Lance

I understand how the oil exits your now. That makes sense that the nipple version is more vulnerable.
It's going to be great having one of these....I hate when I'm removing the drain bolt by hand and then it falls into my oil catch container. I guess I kinda need a Ruckus first though....maybe I'll order one anyways so I've got something to do to it when I get the Ruck.
Anyways, thanks for all the help! I'm looking forward to picking one of these up!

Toyo5, How did you go about matching the paint for the strip on the wheels? Looks sharp - reminds me of the older Porsche black wheels with red accents. I saw a 09 Red Ruckus at the dealer today and I have to say if I buy a new one - Red it will be.
