I vaguely remember reading a thread where folks were discussing removing material from the head area, up around where the valves are, in order to reduce the compression. This was for an engine that had blown gaskets a few times and the theory was that the repeated smoothing of the engine faces had boosted the compression too high.
Does anyone have details about this procedure? I've not been able to re-locate that thread... >.<

Thank you. ^_^ A document like that (on solving common problems) would be very helpful! An online big bore wiki website might be a good approach to gathering that kind of info as well.
