Well, I am a noob here and to the whole Ruckus scene. I never really thought I would own any form of transportation like this, but I am glad I do now. My work car broke down (95 Neon), and I didn't feel like putting any more money into it; since I am a medic in the Army and deploying again (#3) in Mid NOV. Here are some pics: Front view: I just put the Chanito windshield on yesterday: Chanito windshield up close (It is very nice): Left Side: The only mods I have done so far: The Chanito windshield, the black under-seat plastic mesh, I added some extra zip-ties to the frame so I can bungee-strap things to the floor board (I have to carry a lot of stuff being in the Army), I stole the foot pegs from my youngest son's bike, and I modified the under-seat to be able to store my Kryptonite U-Lock. Right side: *note the oil stains on the floor are not from the Ruckus, they are from storing my cousin's 04 Swift Chopper. (It was a handful) Pics of me and my Ruckus (yet to named): Living and riding on post I have to maintain all required PPE. So, I like to do it right: KBC Tarmac Radiation helmet, usually wearing my Oakley Half Jackets (smoke), Fieldsheer mesh riding jacket (w/ armor), Icon Twenty-niner gloves (yellow), long pants, and a yellow reflective belt (stored below seat). *note: facial hair is because I am on Block Leave for 2 weeks (only time I don't have to shave every damn day!) I enjoy riding this so much, i look for places to go, just to ride. I have a rain suit, but it is goofy looking (my wife calls it a "scooter suit"). My Paratroopers think I am funny for riding it to work everyday (3 miles round trip), but beg to take it places. Well, let me know what you think.

Looks nice but I have a few questions.
What benefit do you get from the wind shield? I use my Ruck for to and from work myself and the wind can play tricks for sure.
Second as far as the foot pegs do you use them while riding? I have been considering mod's that place the foot rest/pegs up front as that seems more comfortable.
And thanks for serving BTW!

I actually use my footpegs all the time. I use my Ruckus to go to school so I have this huge book bag. So instead of hauling it around me while im driving, I put in on the floor board with a bungee chord. The only draw back that I have found out is that on windy days, with your legs out to the side, your body acts like a wind catcher. My Ruckus which is already slow, goes really slow.

The windshield does make a difference and I recommend it to everyone. It not only gives me 1-2 MPH more, but it pushes the wind and bugs over my head. I feel more stream-line in the wind. Especially tucking behind it and going down hill (I max + the speedo). I have to be careful though, since I don't have to make it motorcycle legal; since it's supposed to only be able to go 30 MPH. I love having foot pegs. The ones I have on there aren't too long, so they don't catch or drag. I think it feels more comfortable riding using them. When I need speed or feel too much drag, I just bring my legs up to the deck. I thought about putting some pegs up front, but there isn't a convenient hole there to do it. Also, I just don't place my feet up there enough. I also bungee strap things to the deck and still have a place for my feet.
I do have a question for all you though. I have been riding this for a month now, and have noticed I get a lot of motorcycle riders passing opposite of me, actually giving me the "motorcycle wave". That is dropping their left hand below the handlebar. Does this happen to anyone else? I feel wrong, because I am on a scooter, but still acknowledge their waves.

A real two-wheeled warrior waves at anyone brave enough to man the roads free of a cage. Wave at everyone, motorcycle, scooter, moped, bicyle. At least, that's what I do.
And I feel you on the moped crap. I used to drive my girl half-throttle, keeping it at 30 mph... but I got tired of being passed by other unlicensed scooters.

Thanks for the answers. I noticed most of you have caged in the under seat area as well. I see the material you are using is a fine mesh. I purchased a roll of black hardware cloth from the Home Depot and was going to cut it to fit and zip tie it on. I don't know why its called cloth when it is hard plastic but either way I think it will do. The holes are only about 1/2" big and I not exactly stowing paper clips under there anyway. I'm still trying to find the right stash box for my cell phone wallet and stuff that I can tie to the over head light rack. I have been givin a few suggestions on here and the search continues. I like the tool box strapped to the back up above there. Not sure I need that much storage however but it does get the wheels turning.

And by the way as far as carrying a lock I just decided to insure it with Progressive for like $100 a year. Theft deductible is $100 and I have uninsured motorist coverage for possible pain and suffering. Something tells me if I ever crash there will be some suffering no doubt.

I got my frst wave from a guy on a big cruiser while I was riding home from the dealer, and it seemed really cool. Seems everyone on two wheels waves and/or waves back in my area, but we Canadians are just so polite, eh?

alright dude, lol, i have been riding on and around bragg for a while, and a lot of guys wave like that. Its because from a distance the ruck looks like a bigger bike. Also, I have not seen you riding... ever. I ride the ruck basically everyday, its my only mode of transportaion.. even when its only 20 degree's out. I do hope to see you around at some point, i need a riding buddy.
