New Ruckus. 11 days old
200 miles down, hopefully lots more to follow.
Top Speed: 38 mph, 6’2” tall 228 lbs.
Just a guess on fuel economy, around 100 mpg. No gas station close and too much of a hassle to measure exactly how much fuel I am using on the fill up. Mixed roads slight hills mostly flat. I drive like an old geaser…. Good reason for that, I am!
Mods:
Mongoose pegs from Target $10, an absolute must!
Plastic hardware net under the seat, extremely cheap mod. Bought netting from Home Depot. A roll of this stuff allows you to make lots of mistakes. 100 zip tags from Walmart.
Covered the rear bar with pipe insulation, still hard to sit on it, but better than the bare bar.
First oil change 200 miles. It was a very simple job. No torque wrench, re-used the washer. No leaks. Oil was black, but my guess it was still doing its job. Used the cut down 2 ltr. bottle method. I may use a zip lock disposable box next time.
Next Mod:
It will most likely be the NCY seat sliders/extension. Seems like everyone is out of these, and I am not even sure they are still being made. If I can’t find them, then I’ll see about something home grown.
Texas law: It is a motorcycle. It requires registration, inspection, insurance, and motorcycle license.
Dealer required proof of insurance before I could drive it off the lot. Insurance with Progressive was $78 a year and includes $100 deductable theft.
Bike fit in the back of a Honda Pilot, however, it was a pain to get it in, and if I did not have to do it this way I would not.
$2,850 out the door. I figure that I paid about a $200 to $300 premium because they are in demand. I tried a local dealer, and he said he could not even get one. Had to go to Dallas to get one.
