is it possible to put any other model front discs on the ruckus besides the dios? I'm thinking of buying a used zuma that doesn't work but the front discs, and forks are in perfect condition.
hmmmmmmmmm, will they fit? assuming I change the tires and all?

I thought I read at one time on the battlescooter site that a chinese scooter's forks would work. You have the key thing which is access. A few minites with your eyeballs, a tape measure and a caliper should give you your answer. I plan on measuring ever scooter I see from now on to see what parts I can caniblize.

well "05 zuma forks are 120 bucks or so each and the caliper is about 110 i think. i called the honda/yamaha dealer up the road. but for under 500 or so the forks could be put together. the big problem would be the upper mount where the forks go into the steering "triple tree". oh and getting a disc on the stock wheels ive got the 12 inch aluminum wheels from bss and have been riding for 2 months with no front brakes and it sucks! so get the zuma and let us know.

If the forks fit I think it would be easier to just use the Zuma rims, plus they are black and I think they look cool, but thats a really good idea if it works.

zuma fork tubes where they go into the steering head are too large of a diameter. not a good option, as the head cant be pried open far enough to fit the forks. the steering head appears to be cast iron so i didnt try to bend it but they were still way off with some prying.

Someone should post the diameter of the stock stanchion tubes. The sweetest option that might work with some mods would be an 2001 or 2002 (I think) Marzocchi Z1 mountain bike fork. I say 01/02 because these model years (not 100% which years)you could remove each leg from the crown (steering head). I think they are pretty close in stanchtion diameter to ours if my memory servers me corect. These forks were totally adjustable in terms of rebound damping, compressed and preload. It think the main issue would be the axle interface. These Marz. forks were made for 20mm through axle as they were built for freeride use but you could perhaps make or buy an adapter (sleeve) as our axle is maybe 12mm. I'm not sure they would work but if you took all the stickers off and painted in black you'd have a sweet fork. You can get them in 4-5" travel and for about 150$ used. I've got an 05 Marz right now and it would really look sweet as even the stanchtion tubes are black but you can't remove the legs and even if you could, it's a 700$ fork so I think I'll keep it on my mtn. bike.
