I have an 04 ruckus with 6300 miles. About a year ago I had a flat tire and had to remove the rear wheel to get the tire fixed. Ever since I put the wheel back on the rear brakes squeal. For the longest time it was only when I first started out but now it seems to be all the time. Could my brakes be bad? Is something out of line? Any data would be great. Also, how many miles are the stock tires rated for?

More than likely dust got in the lining when you remove it and stuck to it, get some 60 grit some paper, remove your rear wheel again and using the sandpaper sand the drum surface and the shoes in a 45 degree angle to the wheel in both directions to create a crosshatch pattern and that should take care of the noise ;D

i took this advice awhile ago and it works great. Of course, Chanito could tell me rubbing mud my ruckus would make it go faster And I have the dirtiest ruck around.
