I got a brand new ruckus last week. The honda dealer with "honda certified" wrenches told me there is no need to run it under a break-in procedure at all. Is this true? If not, what would the break in be? I have been running her at about max 25mph for about 200 miles just to be safe.
Thanks in advance.

For the first 100 miles or so, don't run her at a constant throttle for long periods of time. Keep it varied.

I was told to run it 1/2 throttle for .5 hr, let col completely. then same at 3/4 throttle. book is more in line with kami.....i went with that. only have 90 miles on it, got it last week. seems to go a little faster actually got it to 43 on the flats no headwind.

Thanks for the info. I ran it only at 25 for about 200 miles now. I think I should be in the clear to let her rip.
Thanks again.

Y'know what they say about break-in periods in the sport-bike world?
"You don't buy a chainsaw to cut kindling".
Really, varying throttle position from low to high so you go back and forth from decel to accel is best for a short while.

...i heard (or read) somewhere that you dont want to go more than 1/2 throttle for 600 miles for break-in! ...that would of took me forever! ...im going with the 'KAMI' break-in method. ;D
