cool thanks, now obviously there is an oil filter right? so just like your car shouldn't it be replaced as well? What seems to be the standard amount of oil required and is there a fill line?

The Ruckus holds 0.6 litres / quarts and there's no filter. To change it, you simply warm up the engine, shut it off, remove the drain bolt (kinda under the kickstarter), drain the oil, put the bolt back in and then fill it back up with fresh oil via the dipstick hole. If you have a 2003-2005 Ruckus you need to be super diligent with your oil changes because the oil gets contaminated quite quickly. If you have a 2006 or newer, the engine ventilation is improved so being anal about it is less important but you should still do it often. Keep in mind that a Ruckus revs a lot higher than a car, so putting 1000kms (600 miles) on a Ruckus is like putting 5000kms (3000 miles) on a car.

I'm gonna be changing my oil in the next week or so (when I hit 1000 miles). What oil should I buy? The dealership told me some Honda stuff but I'm guessing thats gonna be alot more expensive than something I can get at autozone or walmart. I thought I saw someone say Mobile 1. Also is it best to change coolant when changing the oil?
My Ruckus is my first automobile of any sort so I am very ignorant about these things.

Buy any good 5w30 weight oil, Mobil 1 is good but too expensive for what it is, Castrol GTX or Valviline should be great. And you do not need to change coolant ;D

no....the tranmission oil only needs to be changed every 10,000 miles or so. I do it more often than that but still not every oil change. I do it every spring usually.
