okay im sick of being slow on my 03 how much are 06+ and above i hate it so far. cool scooter but my TOP speed is 35 and cruising is 30-32 seriously how much? ? New is about $2400 out the door. If you are somewhat mechanically inclined, it wouldn't be too hard to just swap out the motor, add the PCV solenoid system and change the ECU. Considering a motor would be about $250 and the ECU under $100, you could do it all for about $400 or less. I'm not talking about new parts here, the guys over at TR swapped their engines to GY6s and have a lot of motors that have under 500mi. on them. I had a little mishap and bought a '07 motor w/ around 500mi for $250.

You could electric turbo your rickus' it's incredibly easy if you think about it simply. mine was a simple push to make switch and a 14V leaf blower from the goodwill give it a shot, i wish i could to my elite

I know what you mean. My 07 Rukus is only cruising at 30-32 mph and topping out around 36mph? It used to cruise at 36-37mph and top out at 40mph. What gives?

I weigh 230 and I get to 45 all the time on flats as long as there isn't a head wind.

Hey, I'm new, and I really don't know anything about engines, but I do love my Ruckus. As I'm learning is pretty common, I'm hoping to get mine going just a little faster.
I weigh around 155-165 lbs and my '08 tops out at around 42 on flat on a good day. Unfortunately, good days are few and far between; it seems like my average cruising speed is 33-37mph on flat and acceleration is pretty slow.
So the question is this: I currently have around $300 saved up to apply to the engine of my Ruckus because some tool told me that they could put a big bore kit in my Ruckus to get it up around 80+cc. Now they say I can't and from what I'm reading that's true (right??).
So what do I use this $300 towards to get more acceleration and a bit more top speed out of my scooter?

Some Metro roller weights from your local honda dealer don't cost too much.

Wrong for both, the fan uses more energy taken from the charging system than the power it produces.

Bought a used 2015 ruckus with 1800kms. Put $2200cad in extras into it including air intake, carbon racing exhaust, hi speed variator, cdi rev limiter, and a bunch of styling parts. Mine stock had a hard time maintaining 60km/h... now it will pull hills at 60.. tops out at 85.. super fun
