I am a large fellow who drives the Ruckus as though it were a sport-bike in the corners, looking to see what different braking techniques have in the small ride. I treat is like my R1 - - all this to say, I might be alittle hard on the pads - yes they do fade when hot.
So has anyone changed the pads yet? How many miles on yours? How hard do you use your brakes - regular - hard - light? How easy is it? or how hard is it and what are the tricks of the change out?
What are our options for pads?

I've got over 15,000kms on mine or 9500miles and I've never changed mine. The wear indicators show that I've got atleast 1/2 my pads left so I don't think too many people need to worry about it. I would say that I brake aggressively but not rediculously.

I put 1600 miles on mine, and i adjusted the brakes a couple of times, but i have plenty of SHOES (pads are used in discs brakes) left, however replacing them does not look that dificult

Yeah pads didn't sound right to me but I couldn't think of the real name. I did tighten my brakes up a bit around 13,000 Km (8,000miles. When you do this be very careful not to make them to tight or they'll drag which will slow you down and wear out your brakes.

The brakes in the ruckus, are small, only 95 mm in diameter, they are however very wide so the friction area is big and they do a good job of stopping the scooter, my concern there is little mechanical help, so doing a panic stop from above 40 mph (already above standard) requires some force, but wear on the shoes should be not an issue because of the big area an little force applying them to the drums
