Anybody done mods to the center stand to get the rear back off the ground with longer than stock shock?. Don't wanna carry a chuck of wood around with me.

Why do you need the rear wheel off the ground? Is your shock so long that the rear wheel is actually pressing on the ground so that you're worried about it falling over? The impression I got from other people who installed longer shocks was that it touches but that isn't really a big issue. If it is indeed pressing so that you're worried some wind or something might knock it over then I really don't have any suggestions other than perhaps getting some longer bolts for where it attaches to the frame and then stick a bunch of washers in there so your center stand actually hangs a bit lower.

Well, if you park on solid surfaces all the time, you ought to go for the kickstand, probably, if DandyDan is correct. I assume that would do the trick, I dunno.

I understand now that you're concerned because the ruckus is always in gear (slightly) so if the wheel is touching the ground it could damage the clutches or burn out the drive belt (learned via email). This would be an issue for anyone with a longer shock or with the kickstand. It's not an issue of the Ruckus tipping over so much as it is an issue of preserving the drivetrain.
Not that I really know any better than anyone else...if fact I'm probably one of the worst people to answer because not only do I not have a long shock installed, I'm also seperated from my ruckus so I can't see if my suggestions are even possible. With that said, try:
1 - Drill holes in the centerstand where it touches the ground so that you can attach some kinda shim to lift it up higher. What I mean is you could attach some small metal blocks or even a few wads of washers 2 - Heat up the center stand and bend it so you iron out a few bends and thus make it longer 3 - Park it so the rear wheel is hanging over a pot hole and thus off the ground! 4 - Slide some thick sleeves over the part of the center stand that touches the ground to lift it up. You could attach them via a bolt through the leg.
Well there's a couple ideas that are likely completely undoable since I couldn't even look at my Ruckus to see how it works. Hopefully someone who has actually experienced this issue can offer you some helpful advice. I'm just trying to help even though it's in vain.
Good Luck!

Washers won't do it. The stand mounts on a u shaped bracket and bolts from the side. I also wouldn't want to shorten ground clearance by lowereing the centerstand. I'm thinkin I'll try fasioning some pipe around the round portions of the stand that touch. Maybe a short nipple of 1/2" PVC cut in 2 longways then maybe a chunk of heaterhoes over the top to build it up and hold the pieces together. My concern is the wheel is touching and if somebody cranks the throttle the scoot may take off on a ghost ride. Could happen on a kick stand too. Phred

I'll add the concern to the Store and Battlescooter. The only fix I know is a sidestand or make the legs on the centerstand longer. Have a welder?

"Not a problem unless you like to rev your engine like a fool when it's parked." Not worried about me, it's the potential for some other "fool" to come along. Found these surplus rubber dampening thingys in my garage seem to be a simple solution. I'll be wrappin the rubber with a strip of steel to give the rubber support and hopefully get a smidge more ground clearance. No fear of some fool senden er for a ghost ride. Phred

Mount a kickstand(I did) and don't let it sit an idle. If you're not riding, shut it down. The side stand on my big ruckus and my Valk both do it automatically when the kickstand is deployed.

" The side stand on my big ruckus and my Valk both do it automatically when the kickstand is deployed." Hows that work on the Big Ruck? I know my GL shuts down when you drop the kickstand while it's in gear but the Rucksters are always ready to go drive train wise. Tractors have a butt switch that kills em if you get off the seat, but that wouldn't work on scoot. Just curious
