Woah! Don't downplay those Tanax mirror and the pegs! The actual design of those mirrors seems pretty sweet if only they were black. I may need to get myself a pair and powdercoat them. How do you find them in terms of looks, funtionality and quality?

they suck, if i can pick again, id prolly not give away the ones i bought from SIP, or get the BSS ones. These mirrors view are so small its a pity and adding the adapter is not cool at all too. For everyday commute like how you use your ruck, it makes life THAT much more dangerous, many times i did not see a car behind me. Now there's a "blue" special one making me feel bad. Furthermore the finish kinda sucks for the price it ask, I'd thought it would be better
The good part is that they are lighter than stock, you can tell after installing them that turning handlebar is less heavy. I must admit they look okay too, but doesnt really match my ruck therefore now i need chrome handlebars and flush mount turn signals to go with the Lower look that the mirrors give.

About the Tanax ones, the paint and the functionality of them doesn't concern me because I don't really use my mirrors and because I'd get them repainted. Simply focusing on the aestheic appeal of that shape and quality, do they look good? And why are the 10mm to 8mm adapters not cool (other than being too close to chrome)? It seems to me these mirrors would be sweet if they were powdercoated black.

the adapters are gay coz it makes the mirrors look unoriginal and tall, Id advise you to get another type of Tanax coz these Napoleon Balljoint mirrors aren't THAT great actually...but for the peace of mind if you like them, just get them.. for me, i might be getting a different set when i go back to hong kong again

Thx for the input...Judging just from pics they look alright but definately not perfect so I think I'll just hold off on em. If you are ever selling yours I might buy em off you and try to paint them black but otherwise I'll just keep my eyes open. Ideally, I wouldn't run any mirrors because I want my Ruckus to look as clean as possible but I have to so I may end up going back to bar end ones even though they are kinda of annoying since your hands bump them all the time. Those Cafe bar end ones Sanjuro has are moved forward a bit so they might work better.

Nice Pirelli's ;D I recently when 130/90 on the front too. It does offer a bit smoother ride which is good because the fork suck. It does jack up the front end a little too though so you need to shift your weight a bit more forward when corning to really balance things.
That top pic is really nice but what happened to your windscreen?

windscreen? what windscreen?
Do you brake while turning or before turning? I feel the tires turn in better when i brake while turning but makes me feel more uncomfortable :S

I think that's Cruiser's Ruckus with the windscreen... notice it's black, where Jasper's is camo...

Right, my bad on the windscreen...I just skimmed the old pics a bit too quick.
About braking....I brake down to the speed I want to corner at before the corner and then I'm actually on the throttle a bit through the corner so my speed stays constant until I'm ready to really pounce on the throttle as I exit. When you corner hard you really scrub off a lot of speed which kills your exit speeds and I prefer the feel in a corner when I'm not on the brakes although it would weight the front end more which is what we want....I guess I'd rather just move my weight more forward to balance it out.

I totally agree with DD and shifting your weight helps a lot, i need to do that so i can keep my speed around corners, as with 220 lbs to haul around the little Katrina does not accel that good

After nearly one and a half month wait, the 2006 carburetor needle finally arrived! For those who haven't ever opened the top of the carb to put the needle in, here are some visuals to show you how simple it is to change the needle. Top of the carb... Right below the lid.... The piece that holds the needle..... And finally the screw that must be released to take the needle out. Overall, I am REALLY impressed by this needle. Most noticeable change in low and mid range power. It made the ruck feel more "lighter" and changed the sound of the engine by a little bit. I was also able to squeeze around 1 more km/h from it too! Now the ruck is eagerly awaiting for his polini to arrive from Miamimoto!

Thanks for the nice pictorial walk though. I stole those pics and created a How-To...swap your needle, thread in the How-To Section.
