Umm...your post is a bit vague...what sort of tips are you looking for? One tip is that you'd better act fast because the Big Ruckus is gone for 07 so once the 06's are gone off the lots you're gonna be stuck buying a used one. Other than that...just do your research so you know what it's worth so you don't get scammed on the price. Oh and the silver ones sold in 06 look a lot nicer than the banana yellow ones sold in 05. Don't hesitate to post up if you have some more questions.

Everywhere that I looked, the new BR is going for 5000$. Is that about right? I'm just looking for any general opinions from anyone about the BR. How is the ride, handling? What's bad about this scooter and any difficulties that anyone may have had.

Unfortunately, we don't get too many people who'll post here about Big Ruckii... Skuuter'll probably chime in whenever he pops on.
The biggest complaint, I think is that there's no wind protection, and that makes driving into the wind difficult.
They're supposed to be about 5500 in the US, so 5000 doesn't sound too bad if it's new. If it's used, you can always Kelly Blue Book it.
Oh, and if this is your first time on 2 wheels, you should take a motorcycle safety course. That's what everyone says, at least, and it sounds like a good idea.
Good luck, and keep us updated.

I have a BR...and yeah...5k is about right if new. If you can shave off anything...consider it a good deal.
It's a nice machine, and fairly nice ride...although I do prefer my cruiser motorcycle...the BR is great to change things up and it also is better on Gas.
I'm in this forum every once in a while...but will try to answer any questions you might have.

Here's my two cents:
I have had at least 15 motorcycles over the past 30 years, and I have to say, the BR is the best scoot in my book. Real easy to use - no petcock, choke, no shifting, great for running errands, as you can bungee lots of stuff on it. Sits low to the ground so you can get both feet on the pavement, has a parking brake, offbeat looking, a head turner. Gives a nice smooth ride, easily cruises with traffic at 55mph, good on gas. The seat, though at a low angle, is real easy on the back (I had to put a pillow to keep my back straight though). Backed by Honda's impeccable reputation for good machines. Real big dual headlights for nighttime riding and for being seen in traffic. Nice big footpads to give you a solid feel when riding. Well balanced frame - I have taken my hands off the handlebars and let it go on its own - runs straight as a pin.
Lots of room for attaching things - it's like a pack mule.
Style of the bike shows that Honda still has a streak of innovation and rugged individualism. May not be everybody's cup of tea, but I think it is great.
Very low maintenance too - CDI ignition, belt drive, oil changes are a no-brainer, even valve adjustment is easy, no need to take the cylinder head cover off or use valve feeler gauges. No maintenance gel battery, wowee! Air cleaners are simple fan-fold type, and one foam, but no oiling needed.
Two places I know have new leftover BR's: Burger's Cycles in Three Bridges, NJ has an '06 leftover, and Horner Honda in Salisbury, MD has a new '05 leftover. When I went there last month, there were 3 left, and two sold in one day.
Pardon the long-windedness, I got carried away. Get one.
Good luck. Spongella
